I think that the theme is to have faith in your self because when it was time for the art contest she had a lot of faith in her self . Emily was sweating but she remembered that she should have faith in herself and then all will end well.
Emily was so devistated when she lost the contest so she ran outside and covered her painting with sticks and stones . She even said that she was never ever going to paint again and then she remembered that everybody would be so sad if she stoped painting every body else would be devastated to so she took it back .
Emily's friend Kelly had faith in Emily when she had painted a Dinosaur for Kelly because Kelly knew that Emily was one of the best painters that she has ever seen .
Madeline thinks that when you have faith for yourself everything will end well.
